I really wanted to enjoy it as the plot was really interesting. But the way it was written caused me to feel bored.

In an October 29, 2012 article entitled "Ever Scarier: On 'The Turn of the Screw' " in The New Yorker magazine, Brad Leithauser wrote: "The language is extremely dense... and though the book runs only some hundred pages,... it feels longer than it is.". Can I get an Amen?!

Sure it was creepy, but most of the time I felt like everyone was over reacting. And why can we never say what’s truly going on? Instead of intriguing me, it annoyed me. I give it two stars for the writing style.

This book bored me to death. The author used way too many commas and unnecessary words. Was he being paid per word or something? Geeze. Waste of a reading experience.
