Wells’s Time Traveller tells a bleak vision for the far-flung future of mankind, in which our civilization amounts to “a foolish heaping that must inevitably fall back upon and destroy its makers in the end”.

I love time travel novels, but this was not good for me. This was obviously the book that started the time travel genre. The genre has grown so much since this. I was bored throughout. I usually love a story, but the first person writing made me tired. Nothing changed - the Morlocks and the Eloi stayed the same. Basically, the future sucked.
