What Members Thought
After so many reviews on this book, how can I do it justice? Well, just give my opinion, I guess. For the story/plotline definitely deserves 5 plus stars. I did have to substract for the way in which it was told, though. I understand that any author creating his own world in the genres of fantasy and scifi must set the stage for his audience. This task can become tedious for the reader at times. While I think this author did a good job at setting his stage I still found it rough to get through.

For the first time, I will say the movie is as good as the book. The movie is slightly dramatized and the book has some nuances that the movie miss. Even with detailed description, I couldn't visualize Rivendell and Lothlorien. Movie does an awesome job. All in all, this book definitely exceeded my expectation.

MY plan is to read the whole series by the end of the year, and then watch the movies and see how they compare
