A sweet book (no pun intended). I've always thought the movie with Gene Wilder was trippy, and the one with Johnny Depp was just weird. But the book was adorable.

This is a brilliant children's book. Fun and fantastical to encourage a child's imagination, well written in fairly simple language, and it tells a story in which those characters exemplifying poor habits and bad character traits are brought down by those habits and traits, while the diligent child who tries to help others and be good is eventually rewarded.
