I love the Anne of Green Gables books, and I was happy to learn about the Emily books. Anne is still my favorite, but Emily is an interesting character. Emily also looks at the beauty in the world, as well as seeing people in unique ways, for a child. She has keen insights into the various people in her life. Another wonderful story from L.M. Montgomery! Young Emily Start finds herself orphaned at a young age and placed into the custody of her mother’s rather snobbish family for upbringing. At first, she resents her circumstances and pines for her old life. But through her love of writing and the processing of her emotions by way of letters to her deceased father, Emily grows to love her new home and even the people therein.

I read all of the Anne of Green Gables books as a girl. How did I miss Emily of New Moon? (And lucky me, the story continues!) Loved the characters, Emily’s writing and the dialogue. And the spelling was best of all!

Independent Young Girl

This is a charming, classic, coming of age book. This ebook version, however, contains many pages that were not edited or proofread, and have glaring spelling errors.
