Naguib Mahfouz won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1988. There is no doubt that Palace Walk played a big part in earning him this prestigious award. I’m so glad I decided to buy all three books in his Cairo Trilogy, as I will immediately continue the saga in the next novel, Palace of Desire.
