Despite all controversial reviews about this book, I really liked it.
What intrigues me is why this book is considered as a "banned" one.
According to Wiki, "in 1960, a teacher in Tulsa, Oklahoma was fired for assigning the novel in class; he was later reinstated. Between 1961 and 1982, The Catcher in the Rye was the most censored book in high schools and libraries in the United States. The Catcher in the Rye seems to be one of “those” books that is on all of the typical reading lists: high school must-reads, timeless classics, cultural icons. None of the English classes I took in high school ever included this book in the syllabus. In recent years, I had read/heard about it over and over and always meant to read it because I knew it is considered a classic.
