It's hard to believe I've never read this before. I truly enjoyed the story. But even more so I enjoyed the wordplay throughout.

A clever ramble-- some parts work very well, little games of language and dream-inspired Jungian imagery. But not all of them work. I think parts are brilliant dances, and parts just pollack language splatters.
Alice is bossed around by chaos and chaotic people, things are purposely unfair and random, which makes me nervous and uncomfortable. We don't get any real feeling for her as a character.
I read right through to the beginning of Through the Looking Glass, and it seemed much better written. ...more
