My son told me I would hate this book because it was "too dark". My friend warned me that it was often boring. My ex-professor warned me that its exploration of aestheticism might anger me. And in many ways they were all correct, but despite all of that I still loved the book.

This book was very entertaining with great characters and good dialogue. The story had a lot of energy and emotion in it, making for an interesting read. Dorian Gray is a good looking, wealthy and vain man who has his portrait painted by Basil Hallward. Dorian also meets and gets to know Lord Henry Wotton, another rich man who doles out wildly bad advice for Dorian throughout the story.
