The suspense was nail biting, however most of the story revolved around the obsession of a young man with an older woman who quite obviously manipulates him .... pretty much the whole book. I might have found it fascinating in my twenties but now it was extremely tedious. I also had issues with du Maurier's pacing and "clues".
