There is no denying that Du Maurier was a brilliant writer and while I didn't love this one quite as much as Rebecca, which is one of my all-time favorite books, it was still so engaging and atmospheric. Even though the writing is so good, there were so many times that I wanted to shake Phillip and yell "GET.A.GRIP.", which may be the point. I'm not usually a fan of ambiguous endings, but in this case I thought it added to the mystery. I'm am looking forward to reading my next Du Maurier.
