It's very seldom that I look so forward to finishing a book... ordinarily, I would have just abandoned it. However, this being one of the "all-time must read" classics, I was determined to power through it.

This book is, of course, an indictment on the politics and people of Swift's time, which he had to veil in satire in order to protect himself. However, the book has just not aged very well. I did enjoy parts of the book when he describes the foibles of society (I found his inclusion of lawyers

From my childhood I could only remember the first part, my attention span was obviously shorter then.

This was fun! An ideal, light read after a read-a-thon :)
