What Members Thought

I read Pride and Prejudice and I wasn't impressed. Granted that was back in high school and I hated everything (I still do but hey, I'm trying), for college I was instructed to read this. Again, I wasn't impressed. Call me a stupid American with a stupid public school education and a more than passing knowledge of my own country's pop culture, but this book did NOTHING for me. I am a huge Jane Austen fan and with finishing this book, I’ve now read them all. I must say, this I’ve is my least favorite. I know it is meant to satirize Gothic novels, but that just didn’t come across strongly to me. It may have been the audio recording I listened to. Several of the voice actors left much to be desired and perhaps I would have caught more of her wit had I read it myself. Or maybe I need to read it with a group or study guide.
