I read Pride and Prejudice and I wasn't impressed. Granted that was back in high school and I hated everything (I still do but hey, I'm trying), for college I was instructed to read this. Again, I wasn't impressed. Call me a stupid American with a stupid public school education and a more than passing knowledge of my own country's pop culture, but this book did NOTHING for me. I mean, at the very least, one can say with little doubt that Jane Austen wrote for quite a narrow audience...yes? No? I ...more
