Dramatisation of the classic tale of love and marriage, with Eve Best and Robert Bathurst.
I am abandoning Emma. The first couple of chapters were interesting, but now I'm halfway through and I'm just not enjoying this book, all in all. None of the characters really seem all that distinct from one another. It doesn't matter to me if anyone gets together with anyone else. Emma herself is a bit of a snob. Well, I won't go into the plot which most people know is about a woman who fancies herself as a matchmaker. I will say I was not fond of Emma Woodhouse but I did like Mr. Knightley. Mr. George Knightley, that is. The story itself was well written but hard for me to get through at times because of the slow pace and wordiness. I did check out the movie (with Gwyneth Paltrow) recently to see how it played out and it was okay. I probably wouldn't recommend it.
