Truly generous men are always ready to feel compassion when their enemy’s misfortune exceeds the bounds of their hatred.

Amazing story. I should have read it years ago when my mom told me to

The Count of Monte Christo is the single greatest revenge adventure of all time. It's a deeply slow burn, but so worth every moment. I'm a massive fan of the detail and exploration of contemporary life across Europe.

The story itself has such highs and lows, but Dumas is a master of getting everything tied together at the end. This classic novel is well worth dedicating the time needed to read it.
