This book sounds absurd and illogical in its premise, after all how can a person overnight change into an appalling gigantic insect, but actually its an excellent metaphorical account of a man dealing with his alienation from humanity. A day before the inexplicable event, the protagonist Gregor, is shown as a hard working man who is literally killing himself to support his family needs.
