Bitter miser Ebenezer Scrooge is taken on a ghostly journey of self-redemption. Stars Michael Gough and Freddie Jones. Part of the BBC Christmas 2009 season.
Last year I listened to it by Neil Gaiman, this year Jim Dale. Both amazing! Of the two, I prefer the non-abridged audio version. Next year I'll try Tim Curry's.

Charles Dickens had a brilliant facility with language. He spins lovely, funny, engaging sentences that make me wish for an ease with words like his. I love the way he tells the story. Close to the beginning of this book there was a paragraph describing Scrooge that was so vivid and clever, I laughed out loud causing my husband to question what I had heard.
