I really liked this book. It was well researched and well written. Capote did a masterful job of putting the full story together. When I finished, I didn't feel that there was something missing from the story. It was such a tragic story... such senseless killings. The craft is evident and the research is extraordinarily done - Capote apparently went full method to write this, delving amongst all of the townspeople and getting to know the killers well. It's more of a long report of a crime than a novel. One good thing about the reportage is that Capote has a great gift for little throwaway analyses of the workings of a small town, or killers' motivations.
