I'll write a more thorough review shortly.

This book isn't perfect fir there are things that drive me nuts about it. There were numerous long passages of moralizing which I just flat out disagreed with. Yet Steinbeck is such a brilliant writer with such painstakingly clear details that I will I overlook it. Who says you had to agree with an author to recognize that this is a masterpiece of American literature?
