What Members Thought

I'm not sure why I avoided this book for so many years. It's a book I've always wanted to read and is listed on many lists as a favorite. Perhaps I was afraid of the disappointment I was sure I'd feel. Being a classic I expected it to be a difficult read but surprisingly it really wasn't. Oh sure, there were words that I had to look up but most of the time I was able to guess their meanings and glide on through. Overall, it was a wonderful read. I've attempted to read Jane Eyre several times in my life, but this time the book held my attention and I was surprised how much I liked the story. I didn't think much of Mr. Rochester (I need to read Jane Steele), but I liked Jane's independent character.
