It’s not the best book to read when you are on a trip dealing with family issues... may be exactly because it is about dealing with family dynamics, time passing, and old gestalts being closed.

Woolf (to paraphrase from her book) makes permanent memories, of her characters’ momentary thoughts. Too bad they spend so much time grumbling.
