I'm going to have to sit on this one for a minute. I liked the story, but it often felt like a slog for me to get through. I would go in ready to read and then find myself dozing off. BUT, then I got to the past 20-25% (according to my Kindle) and it turned into a real page turner for me. So yeah. I'm still figuring out how I feel about The Shadow of the Wind.

This book started off so promising--at a cemetery of lost books (which was inspired by Acres of Books, a wonderful (now closed) used bookstore where I live in Long Beach, California. A story centered around the quest to find out about the mysterious missing author was so intriguing. But the book dragged on too long and I lost interest in the story. OMG! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I was crying in the end, and that usually is a good sign ;-)
Carlos Ruiz Zafón has managed to create a wonderful story, and the different narratives give so much more depth and color and flavor to the story... In the end I liked many characters I hated in the beginning, because their choices and actions and thoughts were explained as the same happenings were explained by the different people involved in them... and...
