This was a lot of fun!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Hearing about her creative process was very enlightening, as it's relatable to mine... which may or may not be really healthy. LOL Also, it's interesting to see how she was able to obtain her dreams. It's motivating and encouraging. I will say the roughest chapter was the one on GamerGate and it made me so upset for her.

This is the memoir of Felicia Day, an actress probably most famous for Dr. Horrible and The Guild. I loved this! She has an amazing writing voice and is super self-aware, which makes it the opposite of annoying when reading about someone's success. I loved reading about her homeschooled and college years, and I especially loved reading about how she has dealt with overcoming anxiety and depression. An entertaining account of Day's career with a focus on her childhood and her first forays into video games and the internet. The problem with a memoir from someone so young is that she really has little perspective on her life--she's not to the point of looking back with any real insight or wisdom. She's really just able to say, look, I've done a few interesting things and it's all worked out for me. I hope you're able to make your life work out as well as mine did.

I suddenly now have a desire to re-watch Dr. Horrible! I've seen it several times already :)
I'm not a gamer, but I am a nerd, so I really appreciated this book. All the gaming stuff pretty much went over my head, but I liked the parts where she shared about trying to make it into acting ... then screenwriting ... which launched her into creating "The Guild." Felicia Day is fresh and funny; she's the real deal. Her writing will make you snicker. Recommended for geeks of any kind of caliber. ...more

And now I'm reading the audiobook because Felicia Day is my favorite.
