Listened to the audiobook. Japanese stories just hit differently than American and British ones, which is mostly what I read. This is a beautiful, lovely little weaving of the stories of visitors to a coffee shop that allows time travel. The opening story made me think I was going to roll my eyes at a whole book of going to the past to save a lost love, but this was not that. Like reading a meditative poem.

I feel like I was missing something while reading this book, maybe because the culture is so foreign to me some of the characters actions seem inexplicable, or maybe the translation doesn’t do it justice. But I also can’t stop thinking about this book.

Would you go back in time if it wouldn’t change anything? A short book about this question. I enjoyed reading this Japanese book and seeing glimpses of the characters’ lives.
