4.5 stars. Madeline Miller's exquisite and engrossing rendering of the myths surrounding Achilles and the Trojan War is masterful and even breathtaking.  Those who find the idea of reading dusty old mythology boring would be surprised at how vivid, entertaining, and page-turning this tale is.  I love how she breathes new and substantial life into characters who are well known, like Achilles and Odysseus, as well as those who may have been just ancillary in the Iliad and other myths.  Most promin ...more
