This was pretty great. I didn't love the set up of the letters that were (gasp!) mailed that weren't meant to be mailed but the characters and dynamics made up for that bit of clunkiness. And primarily what makes this work is Lara Jean. She is the middle sister in a family of well defined roles after their Korean mother dies years prior. Lara Jean is quirky, smart, studious, naive, and sweet. She is happy spending a Friday night at home baking cookies with her little sister. Her romantic experie

The three Song sisters, Margot, Lara Jean, and Kitty, are very close. Since the death of their mother, Margot has run the household like clockwork. When she leaves for college in Scotland, Lara Jean suddenly has to take on responsibilities that she doesn't feel ready for.
On top of that, letters she wrote to boys she had crushes on somehow get mailed and then she is facing attention that she never anticipated.

After a heavier read that took me a while to finish, I wanted a fun, light read and this book fit the bill perfectly. In this book, several high school age boys inexplicably receive the love letters that Lara Jean had written to them explaining why she had a crush on them and why the crush ended. When the plot seemed a little cheesy, I reminded myself that these same thoughts and emotions are likely similar to what my teen and pre-teen are or will soon be feeling. At that age, emotions can seem

I really enjoyed this book. I liked that they're we're loving sisters (because I always wanted a sister and I have daughters), I love that the protagonist was part-Asian (but that Han didn't make a big deal of it) and I like how "awkward" yet normal, Lara Jean acts. They make a big deal out of diversity in books these days, but they're not wrong. I would have loved to read something like this as a teen and glad that these exist for my girls. I disagree with what some other reviews say...they don

Cute book. Reminded me of my own embarrassing “love life” in middle and high school. Overall, an easy and fast read. Certain parts could have been expanded and delved into more deeply but maybe they will be in the next book.😅All the talk about food got me hungry at times and also made me wonder how Lara Jean was able to bake so much.

Very sweet book. Sometimes Lara Jean was just annoyingly clueless and I felt the frustration of being an adult watching teenagers make dumb, teenagery decisions. But in general I enjoyed it and do plan to listen to the sequel eventually.
