I decided to read this book because Im trying to read books from the PBS Great American Read. The story was great but Paulsen is a horrible writer. His need to repeat phrases and descriptions over and over made me want to give up on the book. I finished it but find no need to read the rest of the series. I won’t be marking this series off my GAR list.
