My daughter and my son both love this series, and I finally got around to reading it. But because of an issue with another book, I turned out having to read this one in one day in order to finish one of the book challenges I was doing this year. Thankfully, it was a good book and a quick and fun read, so it was possible.

This was just plain delightful. Alex and Conner were fun siblings and I enjoyed the way they balanced each other out. And once the fairy tale characters started really being developed into unique characters, different from the Disney/well-known versions, it really got fun and engaging. It's a middle reader book, but I even found myself kind of excited when I figured out a fun plot twist right before it was revealed. Alex and Conner are thrilled when their grandmother gives them her beloved book of fairy tales.
