No pun intended, but this script lacks the magic of the novels. I hear the stage production is excellent, and tried to keep in mind as I was reading that this is meant to be seen rather than read. I think a lot is meant to be covered in stage directions, but on the page it just feels like a lot of gaps. There are some interesting dynamics between new and old characters, but some of my favorite characters had little to do and didn't seem to be acting in character. Shelves: fantasy-scifi

It pains me slightly to not give this a 5 star review, but if I'm going to be honest, then I have to say, there was SO much missing for me! I loved revisiting the characters and the world, but I had a really hard time connecting to anyone in the story...even my favorites. I guess this means I need to see the play to fully appreciate the script! ...more

Pretty sure I pre-ordered this when it was published and it’s been on my TBR since then. Finally read it, because I finally get to see the play in a few weeks!

Loved the story and the play with time. Cannot wait for the production!
