Well, this sure met me exactly where I am, in a ton of ways I didn't expect. I thought this was about her partner's gender transition… and it is, in part. But there's a huge amount of fascinating stuff in here about breastfeeding and pregnancy and childbirth and identity politics and critical theory in ways that really worked for me. It also straddled nicely the sweet spot between personal memoir and intellectual discourse. I can't help thinking of it as a modern (lighter) complement to Adrienne
