One of the first times I've read an entire Sedaris book and it leaves me hungering for more slightly overshared/embarassing and telltale stories from a writer and a family that if anything, lives vicariously and with zeal.

I actually expected this book to be better than it was. I think maybe it was too overhyped and I was expecting more. Perhaps without all the raves about this author I would have enjoyed it more. Which is not to say that the book wasn't boring or unenjoyable, merely that I expected more. I'll read his other ones still.

I saw David Sedaris speak in Bloomington a few years ago and was impressed with his humor and writing style. I'm glad I finally read something of his.
