What Members Thought

The history of Mormonism, their beliefs, and the case studies of a variety of Fundamentalist Mormons were generally interesting, although I got a bit bored by the trials and tribulations of the Mormons in the midwest. My real concern with the book was that Krakauer doesn't make enough of a point that the LDS (not FLDS), is a peaceful religion these days. I wanted to like this book. But I think I wanted more out of it than I got. The history of the Mormon church and the separation of LDS from FLDS was interesting, but I just couldn't bring myself to care about the people profiled.
