Entertaining from start to finish, super interesting world-building. Kept getting emotional about the relationship between aviator and dragon (or lack thereof). Can I have a dragon? I want a dragon. I can’t believe I slept on this series for so long.

i would recommend this book to people who enjoy:
1. Dragons
2. Stuffy British characters
3. Extraordinary level of detail in each scene
4. Military maneuvers

It's probably safe to say this is: Master and Commander, now with dragons! (Tho I've never read M&C, so really I'm just guessing.)

I do kind of like dragons, but I'm not big on the other things, so this book really dragged for me. If I had been reading a paper book, I would've DNFed, but it was an audiobook, and therefore easy enough to keep list

To say that Laurence is a reluctant dragon aviator is a huge understatement. He had his life all mapped out -- a long solid career in the Navy, captaining his own ship. Maybe a perfectly pleasant and acceptable marriage to a young lady from home. Becoming bon

Basically I love anything by Naomi Novik, so the 5* is basically hers to lose, but not on this book. I loved it from start to finish. The relationship between Temeraire and Lawrence is just spot-on perfectly written.
