Sarah Crewe is a pampered little rich girl, beloved by her doting father. Raised in India, she ends up in a girls' boarding school to complete her education. Despite all that she's been given, Sarah is gracious and kind. I expected this book to be charming, and it really was. This was sort of a riches-to-rags-to-riches story: Sara Crewe is a beloved and wealthy boarding student, not spoiled but wise beyond her years. She has an imagination and pretends to be a princess. But then her father dies and she loses her fortune -- and the respect and caring of the school's headmistress.
