As many others have noted, this book is essentially Saudi Arabian chick-lit, similar in style to "Sex and the City." While there are some underlying critiques of the social settings and the perception of love and marriage in rich Saudi Arabian culture, these never solidified enough to redeem this otherwise run-of-the-mill book. None of the characters had much depth or life to her, and none of their stories ever really grabbed me. Setting the book up as a series of emails posted to a yahoo group ...more
