A book of letters and responses - like a modern day Dear Abby (I bet Gen z and on don’t know who that is). The author is Cheryl Strayed who solidifies herself as an even more beautiful and thoughtful writer with this book. She has such skill! While I don’t agree with all her responses to the letters, I am not reviewing opinion rather the fact that each letter was written back to the writer with so much love and care and beauty. I don’t normally read advice columns, so I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this book. I fucking loved it.
Cheryl Strayed (as Sugar) gives compassionate and wise advice, but also doesn’t pull any punches.

When I finished this book, I kissed it on the cover, went to grab a highlighter, and sat down to read again from the beginning. It will be bright yellow all over when I'm done.

Honestly? This was just okay for me. I really wanted to love it, but I didn’t. I get why it is so beloved, I just don’t think it was the book for me. I’ve picked it up several times and am happy to finally finish it.
Loved this book! Beautifully written with some pearls of wisdom. I highlighted multiple passages. Wonderful read!
