Everyone gushed about this book, and I certainly found it interesting, but I was not allasd;s 325897203985uypsdmvz,.fxcla as everyone else. It was perhaps not the best choice for an audiobook, seeing as how to reader was very loud. To his credit, he had a really great accent for Spanish. It's just too bad that he was using it to pronounce Brazilian Portuguese words and was thus totally wrong and distracting.

Grann does a great job of laying out the history of the search for the "lost" city and how the obsession can slowly take over a person. It's almost like a history of exploration too.
