A memoir that gives a behind-the-scenes look at both show business and Scientology. Remini’s account of her disillusionment with the church and her eventual escape from it is by turns funny, heartbreaking, and infuriating.

I listened to this on audiobook, drawn to the infamous rumors of Scientology. The book does not disappoint on that topic. Truly boggling and horrific tactics are enforced by Scientology, and it is no doubt a cult that in a perfect world would be broken up and dismantled. Remini is very honest about the decisions she made why and when to stay and go. I’m less interested in her chapters on the King of Queens and her talk show, as I’ve never seen either, but hey, it’s her book.
