I may have been out of my depth on this one, but I think Mr. Doctorow could have saved his time and effort if this was to be the result.

Though futuristic sci fi is not my thing, I read this as part of a challenge. At first I didn't understand all the futuristic lingo. Then the idea that you had no real death, no scarcity etc bogggled my mind. What would be the point? Theworld would get more messed up, not less. It was sort of fun to imagine that sort of life, but then I started to think of all the new problems that could arise. I guess it should be a sort of cautionary tale about taking advances in tehnology too far. So you thin ...more

I am whole-heartedly a Disney geek. I am one of those annoying people who will mouth the words to the haunted mansion speech and tell you little facts about the history of various rides. When I stumbled across a dystopia set in Disneyworld, I knew I had to read it immediately.

I need to read more fun sci fi novels like this, it was creative and interesting. Probably would have appreciated more of the detail if I had been to Disney more than once.

Reading this was a bit eerie, since I know someone who is a bit too Cory D for comfort. The book was interesting- it seemed very much like someone like me would have written it (a Disney-fan, albeit a somewhat closeted one).

I liked the concepts, but it was not particularly well developed. This is a slim novel, with a somewhat slim plot, but definitely worth a look.
