To me this solidifies my previous feelings about Christopher Moore being the poor man's Tom Robbins. While I enjoyed the tone of Lamb I feel like it fell just between good and great. There are some good har dee har har moments when Moore pulls in biblical moments to make jokes, but nothing really pulls it all together at the end. I thought this was pretty good, and not nearly as sacrilegious as I thought it might be. When we meet Joshua (Jesus) at a young age he is already quite aware of who he is and who his father is, amusing his younger brother by bringing dead lizards back to life (his ability to reanimate is a recurring theme). This book definitely had some funny lines. I'm feeling unresolved, though, because there were parts mentioned that I just don't get.. I probably missed something though.

Definitely one of the funniest books I've ever read. It's full of irreverent humor so is probably not the best read for anyone who is really sensitive about religion.
