A good, quick-read before Christmas. Unfortunately, I saw the movie (Christmas with the Kranks) before reading the book, and either the book was revised after the movie was made or the movie absolutely mirrors the book. For me, this felt like a re-run, because this isn't a case where the book is better than the movie, it is exactly the same.

All I can say after reading this book is 'I wish I could skip Christmas.' When you actually think about it, we spend our money for things that we don't need, for gifts that other people probably don't like although they tell us the opposite when they unwrap them just because they're polite, for huge amounts of food that we're not going to eat, etc. And how can I not mention the Christmas dinners. You have to sit with relatives you see maybe once a year and who think that have the right to judge
