Not my favorite from Grisham but still, it's quite good. The feel of holiday season is there. The chaotic, meaningless acts of buying presents and spending money on Christmas; and the extreme decision of the Kranks to skip the Christmas celebrations that year. Hilarious and sometimes silly, this book captures the meaning of Christmas under those sparkling artificial coatings.

I picked this up as a quick, Christmas-related read, mostly because it was so short I knew I could knock it out in a few hours. If you take it for what it’s meant to be, a mildly funny Christmas story about giving, then it’s a good little read. I was a little annoyed by everyone’s exaggerated reaction to the Kranks deciding to go on vacation for Christmas, but the end turns out okay. Still not a fan of Grisham, though.
