Oh, I loved this book. The only thing i didn't love was the female character. Thomas, finds himself in a land filled with boys who have made themselves a community to survive. They live among huge, stone walls that open in the day to reveal an ever-changing Maze. To escape this place, the boys must solve the Maze and run from the Grievers - hideous animal/machine creatures with blubbery skin and lots of weapons. I am done! I have finished this book! The book did not defeat me, I defeated the book! That's how I felt when I read the last line. Phew!
Combine Lord of the Flies with House of Stairs and then add the dull patina of poverty from The Hunger Games and stir in a shit ton of metaphors and similes, and ... you have The Maze Runner.

A fast paced story of smart teens trapped in a constantly changing maze with real life threats. The last two people dropped in add more drama and questions to an evolving society focused on getting out.
