This is just a delightful, fluffy, happy book. I felt good while I was reading it. And I definitely stayed up too late reading it, so I’m going to have a hard time crafting a cogent review.
If you’re looking for a fun escapist read about first love, look no further, you’ve found it! (CW: cancer is mentioned, and a girl is shamed for having had sex with a boy, so if you’re looking to escape those things, this might not ...more

Anna is a sad statement on the failing US educational system throughout this entire book. So clueless and naive, and not in the cute, endearing way the author meant it to be. What aspiring film critic goes to Paris to only watch American movies?? Does France have nothing to offer the cinematic world?
St. Clair....this is the most manipulative, messy, jerk of a guy that I've come across in any book. And he's the guy we're supposed to be rooting for? That we're supposed to want Anna to end up with ...more

This was a brilliant and beautiful book, and I don't remember it entirely in order now. But I remember being surprised that I loved it as much as I did. I loved how much the main character changed, and that while it is set up as a falling-in-love, girl-boy story, the love story is more tangential to the main character finding her feet and herself, than it is about her finding the boy and the answers to the mystery of the boy.
I really, really, really do need to go read the others in this series. ...more

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.
But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

A nice young adult romance set in Paris. I enjoyed having got it in audio since I wouldn't know how to pronounce the French. Like most books of this ilk, lack of honest conversation and fear of rejection keeps the couple apart much longer than necessary. I did enjoy the friendship aspects of the book as well. A great fluffy read.
(One pet peeve: when kissing someone the person tastes like something foodlike. LIES...unless they just ate some food.) ...more
