I was really hesitant about reading this book. The over-all concept of the story just didn't feel like something I wanted to or should read about. I cracked and tried to listen to it a few months ago and was turned off by the narrator. Lately, a few trusted reader-friends have said great things about it. That was enough to convince me.

An interesting concept and not a bad read but the gimmick of writing from the point of view of a five year old ran thin about halfway through. I just wanted proper grammar and easily understood wording by then.
Very good. Really liked the unique perspective. Don't think I could have read a book like this if it was written any other way.

Even though the premise is disgusting the author managed to make this book charming and life affirming.
Wow. I didn't want to like something like this, but the writing is fabulous and the characters suck you right in (especially the character of Jack - loved that little boy).

It was a little tough to read this book from a 5 year old's perspective but it was definitely interesting from that point of view. The subject is difficult but overall it was an ok book.
