Spring 2020 (April - Sarah's BookClub for May);

I know all the ways this book and this series are wretched, but like a moron who first read this as a teenie and therefore will always defend it, here I am, loving and defending this book.

I kept going between 3 and 4 stars for this book, but in the end went higher because it is epic. I can't believe I got this far in life without reading Dune. I liked the deep world building, the mysticism and the plots within plots. I did not like the repetitive phrasing and really think Herbert could have used a stricter editor. However, I'm glad I read it and I think I'll try the other Dune books as well.
