I started listening to this on audiobook, which was really well done and even featured Malala herself in a few sections. It really hit home how much of a regular girl she is - loves pizza and cupcakes; fights with her brothers; and enjoys watching TV and movies. I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai. Malala’s compelling first-hand account of fighting for woman’s education and equality against the Taliban that proves that one person can make a difference. Her family is threatened due to their vocal stance but despite a perilous injury, she remains strong, focused and determined to make a difference.

This was an interesting story and I'm really glad I listened to it. I learned some things, including just the briefest bit of Pakistani history and Muslim culture. And this book made me grateful for my education and my freedom, two things that I often take for granted.
