This was a slow read for me because I went through it with my journal so I could capture all of the emotions that came up for me as I read. The first couple of chapters especially resonated with me. I kept thinking, "Wow, it's not just me. I always thought I was weird, but there are other people like this."

Reads more like a supportive friend sharing common experiences and occasional gossip, rather than a well-researched explanation from an expert. Last chapter recounts visions and something like an alien visitation, rejoicing in the spiritual depth Highly Sensitive People are capable of.
I'm sure this book would be great for, say, teenagers who are getting to know themselves—reading about HSPs in such exhaustive conversational detail might grant them extra self-confidence.
