I thought I had read this series back in the late 90s but nothing seems familiar so maybe I meant to read them and just didn't get around to it. I like them a lot. There are instances in which I feel like the books are older than they are. Even keeping in mind that they were written in the early to mid 90s, sometimes they, at least the first 3, feel more like they were written in the early 80s. This was much more violent than most of the other series that I read--it had a really high body count! But I like the tone, and Aurora is interesting, so I'll definitely try book 2.

The writing was decent, but the crimes were too violent for me. Note to self: don't read any more in this series!

Quick read- the characters were pretty flat and I'm not sure I would have finished it otherwise.

2008, Aurora Teagarden is a librarian who is interested in real murders that occurred in the past, she formed a club with some of the residents of Lawrenceton who are equally interested. They meet every month to discuss one of the cases in detail. On one of their meetings a fellow member gets brutally murdered and then a series of murders follow. Everyone suspects everyone while the killer is having his fun.
