I'm pretty sure I've read this book before but it is so charming that I didn't mind at all (plus I read books multiple times anyway...usually I remember them though). Delightful! I'm not sure how I came across this, but I'm glad I did. Format uses one of my favorite devices: told through letters! And these are real letters. Pen pals... so nostalgic. For almost 20 years a sassy New York woman and a polite London gentleman (and some others in his circle) send letters. He works for a bookshop, so a lot of correspondence is about books she is interested in purchasing, but not just that. Over the years they also write about their lives, current events, and opinion

Very sweet.
Delightful literary correspondences between Helene Hanff and Frank Doel, a bookseller at Marks & Company in Great Britain. There's a lovely movie version with Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins.

Very sweet and a quick read. I thought Helene was pretty funny and cute. This is a great one if you just have an hour or two to kill.
